Description
The Onion Texas Grano (Allium cepa), also known as Texas Early Grano, is a short-day, heirloom onion variety released in 1944 by Texas A&M University. Renowned for its mild, sweet flavour, it produces large, globe-shaped bulbs with coloured skin and crisp, white flesh. Ideal for southern climates, the perfect sweet onion and is designed for fresh use in salads, salsas, or cooking.
This Vidalia-type onion is disease-resistant, stores well, and thrives in well-drained, fertile soil with full sun. It is one of the most popular cultivars for warm climates and performs particularly well in South African regions with mild winters.
