When attached to your intake, Quantum Carbon Filters will remove 99% of VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds) which prevents air prone plant diseases in your grow space. It will also trap larger particles like micro hairs, however Quantum Carbon Filters will not help with pollen or powdery mildew as the particles are too small.
How It Works
Quantum Carbon Filters Activated Carbon Filter makes use of a process called adsorption. The process of adsorption works by trapping and retaining unwanted odours and hazardous gases inside the activated carbon which is possible because of its carbonous material structure. This product can be used for both inlet and outlet filtration and remove 99.7% of contaminants in the air.
Carbon filters are made from various types of porous materials as well as activated carbon. Carbon or charcoal is a naturally absorbent material because of how porous it is and when activated it is one of the most porous materials on earth. It is used to filter air and water and can absorb most materials, though works best with natural and organic elements.
Activated carbon is made using different types of wood and fruit castings like bamboo, coconut husk, willow peat, wood and coir. These castings are first carbonized at temperatures over 400°C and are then treated again at over 800°C while being treated with vapor to open up micro-pores and increase absorption rates.
